About
About Jazz Standards Library
Jazz Standards Library is a study reference for jazz standards. It pairs a compact chord chart with the facts that can be sourced, and it keeps the claims small.
What is here
Each tune page collects a transposable chord chart, a facts table, a short history assembled from those fields, recordings from MusicBrainz, a YouTube search link for backing tracks, and a note on the confidence and source of the changes. Lists and theory hubs are generated from the same dataset.
What is not here
- No lyrics.
- No melody notation.
- No Real Book, fake-book scans, PDFs, or links to unauthorized copies.
Chord symbols are published for study. They are simplified harmonic analyses, not note-for-note transcriptions of any recording or published arrangement.
Sources
Factual metadata is drawn from structured sources such as Wikidata and MusicBrainz, whose data is published under CC0. If a field could not be confirmed, it is omitted or shown as not listed. History paragraphs are template sentences built only from the fields on the page; they do not add unstated detail.
Most chord charts are extracted from the per-solo chord annotations in the Weimar Jazz Database (ODbL 1.0); a few are editorial analyses cross-checked against a second independent analysis, and a few are marked as drafts under review. Every chart names its source and confidence. Tune pages with too few sourced facts are kept out of search results (noindex) until they are filled in.
